* Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.

* He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.

* In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.

* Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

* பிரியமானவர்களே ஒருவரிலொருவர் அன்பாயிருக்கக்கடவோம்; ஏன் எனில் அன்பு தேவனால் உண்டாயிருக்கிறது; அன்புள்ளவன் எவனும் தேவனால் பிறந்து, அவரை அறிந்திருக்கிறான்.

* அன்பில்லாதவன் தேவனை அறியான்; தேவன் அன்பாகவே இருக்கிறார்.

* தம்முடைய ஒரேபெயரான குமாரனாலே நாம் பிழைக்கும்படித் தேவன் அவரை இவ்வுலகத்திலே அனுப்பினதினால் தேவன் நம்மேல் வைத்த அன்பு வெளிப்பட்டது.

* நாம் தேவனிடத்தில் அன்புகூர்ந்ததினால் அல்ல, அவர் நம்மிடத்தில் அன்புகூர்ந்து, நம்முடைய பாவங்களை நிவிர்த்தி செய்கிற கிருபாராதனபலியாக தம்முடைய குமாரனை அனுப்பினதினாலே அன்பு உண்டாயிருக்கிறது.

* பிரியமானவர்களே, தேவன் இவ்விதமாய் நம்மிடத்தில் அன்புகூர்ந்திருக்க, நாமும் ஒருவரிடத்தில் ஒருவர் அன்புகூறக் கடனாளிகளாயிருக்கிறோம். (1யோவான் 4:7-11)
